About

Burringilly Aboriginal Corporation is Logan City’s peak body representing the interests of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Elders and their families.

Established in 1990, the team at Burringilly work tirelessly to provide a range of services to people with disabilities.

These services are built upon a foundation of respect and are more responsive, effective and culturally appropriate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

In 2017 our mission is to continue to help elderly people and people with disabilities to remain at home and prevent their premature admission to residential care.

Our aim is to help maintain the independence of eligible people including help around the house with household chores and home maintenance, health and personal care, activities, transport and centre base respite. In an effort to support healthy relationships and families, and encourage future generations through our Elders cultural stories to help maintain our culture through the important connections to country, spirituality, family and community.

Burringilly understands the needs of the community to have a welcoming place for clients and carers to go for support and assistance without prejudice. This forms our walking together ethos, cultivating a culture of diversity, passion, generosity and commitment to giving all people a fair go. Our respite centre values all individuals, young and old, abled and disabled, black and white and their beliefs and heritage.

There are approximately 230 people who call Burringilly their second home and who rely heavily on our organisation’s valuable service.

We service a wide area stretching from south of the Brisbane River to Beenleigh, Wynnum, Redlands through to Inala. We invite you to join in our home away from home environment. After talking with our caring staff, you will immediately feel at ease and that you are amongst friends.
